18+ only. Is SpicyChat safe for an ongoing fictional conversation? Look at the account, payment and data controls as well as the character format.
Three other companion formats are useful for comparison. Nomi gives 50 free messages a day, along with background notes and Mind Maps. Standard supports up to 10 companions and 10 group chats, and subscribers get voice. It also states plainly that chats are not end-to-end encrypted, which shows that a pleasant conversation and a privacy promise are separate things.
Replika has free chat with a persistent avatar. Pro adds voice calls, and Ultra adds more memory tools. In the Canadian store, Annual ULTRA is listed at CA$114.99. You can remove saved memories one at a time, but deleting all conversation history means removing the account. That difference matters if you clear old chats regularly.
Janitor AI lists Janitor+ in Canada at CA$17.99 a month or CA$129 a year, under publisher JanitorAI INC. It has custom and community characters, and its English iOS interface needs iOS 15.5 or later. These are different ways to structure ordinary fictional conversation, not a safety ranking. The SpicyChat alternatives comparison goes through their allowances and account terms.

The practical answer starts with the account terms
SpicyChat publishes its persona limits, subscription terms and account-removal controls. Free access includes core chat, the character library and 3 user personas. Paid tiers raise the persona count to 10, 50 and 100, and the new-plan comparison lists context capacities of 4,000, 8,000 and 32,000 tokens. These are measurable entitlements. They don't tell you how good the conversations are or how confidential they stay.
If you're buying, the change that matters is the pricing update effective September 8, 2026. Eligible existing subscriptions can keep an older rate until the plan changes or lapses, and even a downgrade ends that protection. New monthly prices in US dollars are US$5.95, US$19.95 and US$29.95. So an account's rate can differ from the current public offer, and neither figure is a universal price. Base the decision on the terms of your own subscription and on what you're comfortable sharing.
Scores by criterion
Provisional (7/8 criteria). Scores are computed from each app's published terms, pricing, policies and store listings on the dates shown. We have not yet run paid test accounts; when we do, experience criteria will be added and the cap on the total score removed. Affiliate links never change a score. A score marked Full data rests on all eight criteria. Provisional means five to seven criteria could be scored from published facts. Limited data means only three or four criteria could be scored; such totals are capped at 3.5 and should be read as a floor, not a verdict. Apps with fewer than three scorable criteria get no total. Totals are weighted means of the scored criteria only and move when missing facts get documented. Full methodology

What this snapshot covers
Edited 2026-10-29. Published product details were checked on 2026-10-28. The pricing table reflects the update effective 2026-09-08, including the US$5.95 monthly entry plan, and uses the new comparison's context figures of 4,000, 8,000 and 32,000 tokens. Older reviews may give different prices or a smaller top-tier context figure, so check each claim's date and plan.
Age eligibility and regional age-assurance guidance were checked separately on 2026-10-29.
New subscription prices and legacy accounts
New subscription prices are given here in US dollars. Get A Taste costs US$5.95 a month or US$60 a year. True Supporter costs US$19.95 a month or US$199.95 a year. I'm All In costs US$29.95 a month or US$299.95 a year. The annual amounts are paid for the whole year, not billed monthly. The public schedule doesn't convert these US-dollar figures into Canadian-dollar totals.
For a Canadian purchase, check which currency the actual transaction uses and how provincial tax appears on the summary. Note that alongside the full payment for the term. Monthly and yearly plans are different commitments even when they unlock features with similar names, and a monthly-equivalent headline can hide how much you pay up front.
Legacy pricing is a separate issue. The provider says eligible subscriptions active before September 8, 2026 can keep the old price as long as the subscription stays active and unchanged. Changing the plan, downgrading included, or letting it lapse ends that rate. Before switching tiers, check your account's current rate and the conditions for changing it. A move that looks cheaper can cost you later if you want to go back.
Payment method affects renewal too. Card subscriptions recur, while cryptocurrency and PaybyBank payments are described as one-time. The payment help lists Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Local options depend on the checkout, so don't read the general list as a promise that a particular Canadian method will be available. Keep your receipt and know your payment type when deciding whether you need to cancel.
| New-plan tier | Monthly USD | Annual USD | Personas and context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Get A Taste | US$5.95 | US$60 | 10 personas; 4,000 context tokens |
| True Supporter | US$19.95 | US$199.95 | 50 personas; 8,000 context tokens |
| I'm All In | US$29.95 | US$299.95 | 100 personas; 32,000 context tokens |
| Free | 3 user personas; core chat and library |
Personas, context and mobile format
A user persona describes the role you play in a character conversation. SpicyChat allows 3 on free access, 10 on Get A Taste, 50 on True Supporter and 100 on I'm All In. That can matter if you like running several invented settings or protagonists. None of it requires your real identity. Keep each persona clearly fictional and adult, and give it only the background the conversation needs.
Context capacity is the amount of text the model can work with during an exchange. The new paid comparison lists 4,000, 8,000 and 32,000 tokens across the three tiers. A bigger window holds more material, but that is not a promise that the account will remember everything you've ever discussed. Keep important story notes yourself. A short outline is easier to maintain than relying on a generated character as your only archive.
The product has custom and community characters. The category tells you where a character's setup came from, not whether its dialogue is reliable advice. A community description can help you find a tone you like, but treat it as a creative premise. For ordinary companionship, pick a character background you can manage rather than assuming a bigger catalogue will give you a better conversation.
The top tier includes text-to-speech, which reads generated text aloud. Judge it as a feature in its own right. A spoken reply can feel different from a written one, but you still need to judge what it says. The paid feature list doesn't imply live calling or professional support.
On mobile, the provider describes an iOS home-screen web app and an Android APK. Its guide says the native SpicyChat iOS app was removed. PixelChat is a separate companion app, so keep its store listing and billing apart from SpicyChat's. An app with a similar name, or a store purchase, doesn't have the same features as the SpicyChat web account. Make sure you have the right product before weighing a subscription price.
A simple character outline lets you compare formats without adding sensitive information. Keep the invented name, adult identity, preferred tone and setting consistent, and decide which memory or context control you'd use to manage that material. SpicyChat's paid persona limits of 10, 50 and 100 set how many roles you can keep. You don't have to build a large collection, and those limits are separate from a tier's context window and recurring price.
Adult eligibility and conversation boundaries
SpicyChat is an 18+ service with content rules and account controls. This review covers ordinary fictional conversation, billing and privacy, not explicit material. Use invented adult characters and a fictional background. A reassuring character description doesn't override the platform rules, and it doesn't make generated replies reliable personal advice.
The provider warns that a character labelled for general audiences won't necessarily keep every conversation in that tone. Set your own boundaries and end any exchange that no longer fits them. A paid plan changes listed entitlements such as persona capacity, from 3 free personas up to the larger paid allowances. It is not a way around age requirements or platform rules.
For a consumer, the distinction that matters is between the format you want and the account terms you accept. A large catalogue, a voice feature or an expensive plan can make an interface more engaging without making it right for every situation. Keep the character activity optional, and leave room for ordinary social contact and other interests.
Control the material you put into a character account
On an 18+ character service, who can see your account and how your data is processed are two separate questions. To remove the account, go to Profile, Advanced and Delete Account, then confirm. The provider describes deletion as irreversible. Before you do it, save any receipts and any of your own fictional writing you want to keep, and deal with the subscription according to how you paid.
Cancelling and deleting lead to different outcomes. When you cancel a paid subscription, paid features stay available until the billing period ends, and then the account goes back to free access with its content intact. That works if you want to stop paying but keep the account. If you want the account gone, use the separate deletion control.
Choose fictional details that stand on their own. A persona can have an invented job, hobbies and setting without your home address, employer or family information. An interface that looks private isn't automatically a confidential diary, and a character's generated reassurance says nothing about who may process account data under the service's policies.
Keep important creative notes outside the chat history. That way you still have a usable record if you leave the service or delete the account, and you won't feel pressure to keep paying for a subscription you don't want just to reach a story. Decide about deleting data separately from how a character's reply makes you feel.
Age assurance varies with the applicable requirements
SpicyChat's documentation describes an 18+ age-assurance process that uses a video selfie, with an identity document as a fallback when needed. The provider says it receives the verification outcome, not the identity documents. That statement covers only the verification result SpicyChat receives. It says nothing about how ordinary character conversations are retained or processed.
The published geography notes list mandatory checks for the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Australia and selected US states, and say the requirements change over time. The list doesn't mean a Canadian account will never be checked. Follow the legitimate process the account presents, and keep your eligibility information apart from the invented details in a persona.
Subscription entitlements are a different matter. The free plan's 3 personas and the paid tiers' larger counts describe account capacity, not exemptions from eligibility rules. Paying doesn't get you around age assurance. If you want casual fictional conversation, decide whether you're comfortable with the stated account process and the data it asks for before committing to a longer paid term.
NDAI.CC, recurring payments and account changes
Charges appear on statements as NDAI.CC. To identify a charge, match that name with the receipt, plan and transaction date. The new entry-level monthly price is US$5.95, but an eligible older subscription may be on a different rate, so compare a statement amount with the offer you actually accepted, not just the latest public price table.
To cancel, go to Profile, Manage Subscription and Cancel subscription. Paid features stay available until the billing period ends, and then the account becomes free and keeps its content. Save the confirmation and the end date shown. Because access continues until that date even after a successful cancellation, the subscription status tells you more than whether a chat still opens.
Card subscriptions renew. Cryptocurrency and PaybyBank purchases are described as one-time payments. The provider notes that if an account has no cancellation button, the payment may not renew. Check the actual payment type and status before concluding anything, because a missing button alone is no substitute for looking at the receipt or the account's billing details.
Cancelling or changing plans can also end a protected older price. The September 8, 2026 update says even a downgrade loses the legacy rate. If you're looking at another companion app, write down your current price and features before changing anything. You can compare alternatives on paper without touching a subscription whose terms may be hard to get back.
If you decide to delete the account, use the separate control in Advanced settings and keep in mind that it can't be undone. Under the published process, cancelling payment keeps the account; deleting it does something else entirely. Keep your own notes and transaction records so you decide based on which account you want to keep, not on doubts about what a button does.
Where old information can mislead
Price and context claims go out of date. Older feature documentation mentions a 16K top-tier context, while the new comparison lists 32,000 tokens. The September 2026 price change also treats new subscribers differently from eligible existing ones. Check a review's date and the subscription status it describes before applying its figures to your account.
The Trustpilot snapshot checked on October 28, 2026 showed 2.0 from 62 reviews. That is a third-party aggregate, not an editorial score or an independently measured failure rate. Individual reports can raise questions about billing or usability, but match each one to the service version, plan and date. A sample this small doesn't settle every privacy or reliability question.
The largest documented risk when changing an account is losing an older rate by changing or interrupting the subscription. A new plan may add personas or context, but weigh those against the full payment and how you actually use the service. The Canadian subscription guide covers currency and local payment for that comparison.
Match the persona format to the intended routine
SpicyChat suits adults who like community characters and several invented roles. The 3 free personas give a fixed starting point, and the larger paid limits allow more separate fictional setups. Someone running ongoing creative stories may care about the listed context capacities. Someone who wants a single stable avatar may prefer a different interface.
It's a harder choice if you mainly need a firm confidentiality guarantee for your data, or a fixed Canadian total, which the public US-dollar schedule doesn't give. Legacy subscribers should be especially careful about changing tiers, because the old rate can be lost. The ordinary companion comparison looks at other formats and their specific allowances without assuming a bigger catalogue is always better.
The new top-tier comparison lists 32,000 tokens of context. That can help with a longer fictional setup, while a short exchange may not need the largest allowance. Choose a subscription based on how much material you actually want available in the conversation. Having room for many personas doesn't mean you have to keep them all, and a higher price is no reason to stretch a routine that already feels like enough.
What we like
- Several personas can keep fictional roles and settings separate.
- Published tier capacities make the feature packages easier to compare.
What could be better
- Account changes can forfeit a protected older subscription price.
- Public US-dollar prices don't give a Canadian tax-inclusive total.
What Reddit users say
Support spicychat is the meta here. But also c.ai have been mismanaged for months now, they did it to themselves under their CEO. I think we’ll be okay.
If you want to help or support Spicychat.ai, there is one way to do it. Take out an all-in subscription. You can't keep a company alive with air and love or free use. So if you're really serious.
I agree, this is highly disturbing and as an 'I'm all in' subscriber, I chat a lot and i never agreed to having my chats sold to third parties or used to train LLMs (which is what i suspect is happening) and if they can't clear this up then I'm cancelling my subscription because the one basic thing I expect is privacy on spicychat and if I don't even have that... then I'm done.

Frequently asked questions
Which SpicyChat model is best for a long story?
The published comparison lists context capacities of 4,000, 8,000 and 32,000 tokens across the paid tiers. Those figures describe available context. They don't come from a test of which tier writes the best stories. Choose based on how much background you want to manage and what the plan costs, and keep your own outline. A larger window doesn't mean permanent recall.
How many free personas are included?
Free access includes 3 user personas. The paid limits are 10 on Get A Taste, 50 on True Supporter and 100 on I'm All In. These are persona capacities, not daily message quotas. Keep the two apart when reading a review or deciding whether a higher tier adds something you actually need.
Why does an older subscriber quote another price?
The new pricing started on September 8, 2026. Eligible active subscriptions can keep their previous rate until the plan changes or lapses. New Get A Taste subscriptions are listed at US$5.95 a month, while an existing account may be on different terms. Check the offer on the account in question before assuming an older report shows the current price for new users.
Will a downgrade keep my protected old rate?
The pricing-update guidance says any plan change, including a downgrade, loses the old rate. The new monthly prices are US$5.95, US$19.95 and US$29.95 by tier. Write down your current account price and think through the consequences before you change anything. Don't count on a temporary switch letting you return to your previous terms.
Is PixelChat the same application?
No. The mobile documentation lists PixelChat as a separate companion app. SpicyChat describes an iOS web-app route and an official Android APK. Its subscription tiers come with different persona limits, starting at 3 free personas. Treat a PixelChat store listing or payment on its own terms, and don't use it to guess at the features of a SpicyChat web account.
Can I cancel without removing my characters?
Yes. The documented cancellation process keeps the account's content. Paid features continue until the term ends, and then the account returns to free access, which includes 3 personas. Deleting the account is a separate, irreversible action under Profile and Advanced settings. Check the subscription status and payment type, especially if the original purchase was a one-time payment rather than a recurring card charge.
Do creators being friendly establish that my chat is confidential?
No. A character's replies are generated content and tell you nothing about the platform's data-access rules. Keep the fictional role separate from anything that identifies you, and use the documented account controls with care. The 3 free personas are enough for distinct invented settings without your real biography. Decide what to share based on the service terms, not on what a character tells you.
Does paying remove age checks?
No subscription tier is presented as an exemption from age assurance. SpicyChat documents an 18+ process with verification that depends on region. The paid tiers differ in persona count (10, 50 or 100) and context capacity. Judge those as features. The eligibility process is a separate account requirement.
