This review covers Perchance's AI Chat generator, not every tool hosted on the platform. AI Chat advertises free access with no signup, which works differently from a daily account quota or a paid subscription. The comparisons below put that difference in context. They don't assume the services share history, features or privacy terms.
Nomi: a daily account allowance
- Price / monthCA$12.99/mo
- Free tier50 msg/day
- NSFWyes
- Age checkself declaration
- PlatformsWeb, iOS
Nomi publishes a free allowance of 50 messages per day and caps free inputs at 400 characters. It describes the free plan as indefinite and says no card is needed. Those figures give the account allowance a clear unit and reset. They don't make voice unlimited: without a subscription, the voice features become read-only.
Its privacy model also differs from a record kept in the browser. Nomi says it is not end-to-end encrypted, and it describes removing personal information within about 28 days of account deletion, with exceptions. This is a comparison of two documented storage and account arrangements. A single word like "private" doesn't settle every security question for either one.
Candy.ai: a finite introductory sample
- Price / month$13.99/mo
- NSFWyes
- Age checkself declaration
- PlatformsWeb
Candy.ai offers a sample of five messages across characters, one created character and one image. Its published description doesn't say these refill daily. That makes it a short product sample, unlike an ongoing text tool with no signup. Five messages aren't enough to show how consistent a conversation stays over repeated sessions.
Paid Standard membership adds 100 monthly tokens. Those paid coins are separate from the sample and aren't part of any free entitlement. To compare costs, you need the actual purchase term and currency along with the feature allowance. A generic dollar price doesn't tell you what a Canadian subscription costs with tax included.
OurDream: a recurring subscription with metered extras
- Price / monthUS$19.99/mo
- NSFWyes
- Age checkself declaration
- PlatformsWeb
OurDream Standard Monthly costs US$19.99 and includes 1,000 Dreamcoins. Ordinary paid text costs zero coins, while calls cost 50 coins per minute and certain enhanced responses use coins. That is a paid account drawing on a shared balance, which is not how Perchance AI Chat's advertised free access works.
Closing an account has its own rules. OurDream deletion is permanent, cancels any active membership automatically, forfeits remaining coins and has a stated processing period of 24 to 48 hours. Those rules belong to OurDream's account system and shouldn't be applied to a conversation held in the browser by another tool.
A browser tool with a different kind of persistence
Perchance AI Chat advertises unlimited free messages with no signup, no card and no daily cap. It keeps the chat record in browser storage and uses editable summaries to carry context forward. So the practical questions differ from those of a subscription: where the current browser keeps the conversation, what a saved copy contains, and what happens if the browser's site data is cleared.
Scope matters here. The separate Character Chat generator advertises character import/export and integrated images, and those features shouldn't be credited to the simpler AI Chat page. Several tools are hosted under the same platform name, but that doesn't mean they share the same controls or features.
The public text-plugin documentation says prompts and responses are not stored on its server. That is a specific statement from the provider. It isn't an independent security audit, and it doesn't say every hosted generator handles data the same way. The tool descriptions and storage statements were checked on 2026-10-28.
Scores by criterion
Provisional (6/8 criteria). Scores are computed from each app's published terms, pricing, policies and store listings on the dates shown. We have not yet run paid test accounts; when we do, experience criteria will be added and the cap on the total score removed. Affiliate links never change a score. A score marked Full data rests on all eight criteria. Provisional means five to seven criteria could be scored from published facts. Limited data means only three or four criteria could be scored; such totals are capped at 3.5 and should be read as a floor, not a verdict. Apps with fewer than three scorable criteria get no total. Totals are weighted means of the scored criteria only and move when missing facts get documented. Full methodology

Scope and check date
Generator descriptions and public storage statements were checked on 2026-10-28. The review was updated on 2026-10-29. It focuses on Perchance AI Chat, and references to Character Chat are labelled separately.
What it looks like

Free access compared with an account allowance
Perchance AI Chat's free description isn't an annual charge dressed up as a monthly price. It describes access to that named generator. It doesn't guarantee that every tool, link or similarly named service on the web has the same payment terms, so check which page you're actually on before reading anything into a price or a request to create an account.
The other rows show why a simple free-or-paid label falls short. Nomi's daily counter resets. Candy.ai's small sample has no stated daily renewal. OurDream provides a monthly balance through a subscription. Each answers a different question about ongoing use, and a bigger number only means something if its unit and period stay attached.
Canadian readers don't need an invented exchange-rate conversion for a text tool that is genuinely free. A separately purchased subscription does need one. The Canada companion-service guide covers billing currency and provincial tax where a purchase is involved. It isn't meant to turn a provider's free description into a made-up local subscription price.
| Product or access model | Published cost/allowance | Relevant boundary |

| Candy.ai sample | 5 messages; 1 character; 1 image | No daily refill stated |
| OurDream Standard Monthly | US$19.99; 1,000 Dreamcoins | Paid subscription with separately charged actions |
History, summaries and the generator boundary
The AI Chat page says conversation history is stored in the browser using local storage. That record belongs to the browser and its site data. It's not like signing into an account on another device and finding a cloud copy of every conversation waiting there. A second browser or profile is a separate storage context, so switching between them won't necessarily continue the same record.
Editable summaries help a conversation continue by keeping a shorter account of earlier material. They are a context tool the user can see and change. How well one works depends on what the summary contains, not on how many messages have been exchanged. If a detail is left out of the summary, don't assume it's still available just because it appeared much earlier in the visible history.
A readable history and the context used to produce a later response are different things. A stored transcript can hold far more than a useful summary of the current character, setting or conversation. Editing the summary can help organise those details, but there is no published guarantee of perfect recall or an unlimited context window.
Save and load functions and conversation-sharing links deal with copies of the content. A copy can keep material outside the current view, but its destination and format matter. A shared link is meant for its recipient to read, so it isn't a private backup that nobody else can open. A copy saved locally also needs the same care as any personal information it contains.
The separate Character Chat generator advertises imports, exports and integrated image generation. Those features belong to that generator. This review doesn't fold them into claims about an image quota, video tool, voice service or native app for AI Chat. Before comparing two screenshots or tutorials, check that they show the same generator and the same controls.
Nomi offers a useful account-based contrast, with a free input limit of 400 characters and a daily allowance of 50 messages. Those are explicit numerical limits on a different service. Perchance's advertised unlimited text is about access, while its editable summaries are a way of managing context. The two should be judged separately. Having no daily ceiling doesn't prove the memory is better.
Take an ordinary fictional writing example: an adult character has a particular job, an established friendship and a plan for the next scene. A good editable summary can keep those details without copying every greeting, correction and abandoned idea from the full transcript. The choice is editorial, since the user decides what context is worth keeping. It doesn't show that a summary increases the model's capacity by any measurable amount or guarantees a particular response.
The browser record is only one part of the data path
The most concrete privacy fact about AI Chat is where it keeps history: in browser local storage. The record can still be there when you revisit the page in the same environment, but clearing that site data can remove it. This is a practical storage rule, not an account-retention promise, and there's no reason to apply another company's account-deletion timetable to it.
The text-plugin documentation separately says prompts and responses are not stored on its server. Storage and processing are different questions. A statement about not keeping prompts doesn't, on its own, explain every aspect of how a response is processed, how a browser is secured or what a separate generator might do. Read it as the precise claim it is, not as a universal guarantee.
Clearing a conversation also doesn't remove copies that were already exported or shared. Someone who received a readable conversation can keep it, and closing the original page gives you no control over another person's files or browser. In practice, the privacy decision happens when a copy is made or sent, not only when you use a local delete control.
On a shared device, the browser profile and its saved site data matter. A chat that needs no login isn't protected by an account password, because no password was ever part of using it. Think about who else can use the same browser and which records have been deliberately saved. None of this assumes the provider publishes or sells conversations. It follows from the difference between local access and account authentication.
A fictional character doesn't need the user's real address, account passwords, payment details or identity documents. Leaving them out makes both the live conversation and any later copy less sensitive. It also makes a saved character summary easier to reuse across ordinary writing projects without bringing unrelated personal information along.
Nomi is a useful contrast. Its privacy documentation describes account deletion and about 28 days for removing personal information, with exceptions. Perchance AI Chat's local-storage description is a different kind of statement, and neither one can stand in for the other when the question is where a particular record is kept or how it is removed.
Generator descriptions and these public storage statements were checked on 2026-10-28. They support a narrow explanation of the named tool. They don't establish end-to-end encryption, a universal rule on training consent or a legal retention schedule for every page hosted under the platform name.
The same distinction helps when deciding what to share. A short character summary can convey the fictional setup and leave out unrelated personal remarks that may have come up in a longer conversation. Sharing only what's meant for the other reader can reduce accidental disclosure. That is a way to manage what a copy contains. It doesn't mean the platform automatically removes sensitive details or checks who the recipient is.
Common mistakes when reading Perchance claims
- Checked 2026-10-28: the Trustpilot page for the whole perchance.org domain showed 2.8/5 from 12 reviews. That small sample covers the whole platform, so it isn't a performance score for AI Chat and can't tell you how every hosted generator behaves.
- No signup and local browser storage answer different questions. One is about access, the other about where the conversation record lives. Neither one automatically gives you recovery across devices or password protection on a shared browser.
- Unlimited messages don't promise low latency, guaranteed uptime or perfect memory. Editable summaries organise context, but having them doesn't establish a measured context window.
- Character Chat's import/export and media features belong to the Character Chat generator. Bringing those claims into an AI Chat review would change the product being described.
- A shared conversation link and a private saved copy reach different audiences. Deleting the original browser record doesn't remove copies that have already been sent.
Which requirement fits this browser-first arrangement?
The advertised text access without signup can suit an adult who wants to write with an ordinary fictional character without opening a subscription account. Editable summaries and a local conversation record can help when the person is willing to manage what gets saved, shared or cleared. It's a specific browser tool, and it doesn't promise automatic syncing across devices.
Someone who wants a fixed recurring allowance may prefer a product whose terms state the count and the period. Nomi's 50 messages per day is one example. Someone weighing a paid call budget needs something else again: OurDream charges 50 coins per minute under its subscription accounting. Calling a text tool unlimited answers neither need.
If you specifically need account-based recovery, a subscription through a native app store, a set voice allowance or an age-assurance process for a particular country, look for evidence of those features in the product you choose. Don't infer them from a platform name or from features that belong to a neighbouring generator.
The broader companion overview lists free daily quotas, finite samples and paid allowances in separate columns. That is more useful than treating the lack of a stated daily cap as an automatic quality ranking. For Perchance AI Chat, the clearest documented differences are still the free claim with no signup, the local record and the editable-summary workflow.
How you manage records is part of the fit. An adult who is comfortable keeping a readable copy and reviewing an editable summary may find the browser setup easy to follow. Someone who expects a central subscription account to restore everything after switching devices needs something different. It's better to see that mismatch early than to mistake a local history for an automatic cloud archive.
What we like
- Advertised free text access with no account registration
- Editable summaries for users willing to manage context
What could be better
- Local records need deliberate saving when you change browsers
- Shared copies are a separate privacy responsibility
- Sharing a platform name doesn't mean generators share features
What Reddit users say
On the other hand: What data is there to steal? Unlike other free sites you don't even have to make an account and give them your email.
It's because you have not defined who has it, negatives almost don't work but model still have them in memory, prompt must be positive and exact
I don't even understand why we have them. They are literally always used for nefarious reasons. And without a dedicated mod support for each chat, I don't see how chatrooms here would have ever been a good idea.

Frequently asked questions
Does this review cover every Perchance generator?
The review focuses on AI Chat. Character Chat, a separately named generator, makes its own import/export and media claims. The platform-wide Trustpilot score of 2.8 from 12 reviews also has a different scope from a test of one generator. Each feature or reputation claim should stay tied to the exact tool.
Is the advertised free access a daily quota?
AI Chat describes unlimited free messages with no signup and no stated daily cap. That's different from a numerical recurring allowance like Nomi's 50 daily messages. The statement is about access to text. It doesn't establish a measured response quality, a guaranteed wait time or the features of another generator.
Where is the conversation history kept?
AI Chat says it keeps history in browser local storage, so clearing the relevant site data can remove it. That's a different mechanism from a service account with a policy like Nomi's deletion process of roughly 28 days. A local record and an account record have different controls and different assumptions about recovery.
Does local storage mean the conversation follows me to another device?
Not necessarily. Local storage tells you which browser environment holds the record; it isn't a promise of account backup across devices. Save and load functions can involve copies, and their format and destination matter. The public description checked on 2026-10-28 doesn't say a different browser profile will open the same history automatically.
What do editable summaries do?
They let the user adjust the shorter context that carries forward in a conversation. A summary isn't the same as the full visible transcript. The feature description checked on 2026-10-28 gives no numerical context-window measurement and doesn't prove every earlier detail will be recalled correctly.
What does the server-storage statement actually say?
The text-plugin documentation says prompts and responses are not stored on its server. That is the provider's statement about retention for the documented plugin, checked on 2026-10-28. It doesn't extend to every hosted generator, every browser copy, the encryption design or anyone who receives a shared conversation.
Can clearing the original chat erase a shared copy?
No. A saved export, or a copy someone received through a shared conversation, is separate from the original browser record. Given the local-storage and sharing behaviour described on 2026-10-28, clearing the working chat and sharing its contents are separate decisions. Anyone who already received the information can keep it.
Should the Trustpilot score be used as an AI Chat rating?
No. The 2.8/5 figure came from 12 reviews of the whole domain. It's a small snapshot of the platform, not a measured score for AI Chat's dialogue, memory or privacy. Any score from that page should stay attributed to that page and its scope instead of being treated as a product-test result.
Does free text establish free voice or video allowances?
No. A statement about text access doesn't give you a quota for voice minutes or video generation. For comparison, a documented rate like OurDream's 50 coins per voice minute concerns a different action on a different product. Each Perchance generator's features need to be identified on their own, not carried over from a text claim.
How should a Canadian reader compare the cost?
Keep the advertised free browser text separate from paid account offers. OurDream's US$19.99 monthly subscription is a monetary commitment; Nomi's 50 free daily messages are an allowance. The companion comparison table helps when currency, period and feature stay attached to each figure. It isn't meant to assign a made-up CAD subscription price to a tool with no signup.
